Traditional Session

After a long journey of working on my developmental trauma with various therapies, I was led to try Core Transformation. Those therapies were very helpful, but I wanted to address the root causes of my issues. I will tell you that this process is difficult to talk about. I read the book and had a cognitive understanding, but until I had the experience of CT, now I know! What I experienced after several sessions with Ashley was hard to describe. It felt like being in a state of grace and feeling immense gratitude. There was an ineffable, ecstatic oneness experience that faded over a while, but the effects remain of feeling more compassionate, loving, and self-aware towards myself.
 
I am more trusting of life and live in a state of gratitude. The challenges still come, but they are not overwhelming like they used to be. Ashley Klesken helped me get my life back. Due to various life traumas, I had sought help in therapy twice before I met Ashley. That was traditional talk therapy and while each time it helped for a little while, my anxiety and depression kept coming back. This third time, reaching a point where I needed help but for various reasons couldn’t find a traditional therapist, I decided to find a nontraditional one. Fortunately, a mutual friend recommended Ashley to me, and what a gift she turned out to be! She also offers a type of scalar biofeedback that somehow, again in one session, managed to banish the neck pain that has plagued me for years, thus saving me from traditional injections and then surgery. I don’t know if my amazingly quick resolutions are a record for her, but I do know they are a miracle to me. The greatest thing about Ashley’s skill set is that it comes with a huge helping of generosity. She has taught me how to handle the negative things that raise their ugly heads from time to time so that I don’t become negative or bogged down, and so I don’t have to feel stuck in a dark place ever again. Ever again. Those words are so life-changing I’m still astounded by the progress she helped me make inside of six [2 hr] sessions. I wholeheartedly recommend Ashley to anyone looking to change their lives for the positive, as well as for good. Life is so short. I hired Ashley to help me navigate some issues within my marriage which were becoming more intense since the start of the pandemic. When I started this process, I was having trouble forgiving someone from my past due to being groomed and raped. The intense rage was blocking me from a lot of areas in my life. [Healing] went way deeper with Ashley. The tools are different. It was one of my first experiences, at least that consistently, to have someone really say, ‘what is actually going on for you’, and it was about me, and not just what a coach might know for a client. I’ve had great coaches, but I would just go along with what people would say. Ashley caught on to that and was able to point it out and then invite me into not just going along with what she was thinking it was, but me learning how to speak for myself. It was very inviting for something that was really vulnerable. Just to be more honest about it, and I don’t know if Ashley considers that a tool or not, I just think it’s part of her genuine heart in her coaching. 

The 2 hour long sessions were very significant because, at least for me, I don’t like being rushed, so having that security of having enough time. It’s not just one hour, plus we’ll meet more frequently, and that opened a lot of security and trust. 

I just love Ashley’s personality, and that made it so much fun. The healing journey is hard, but it was enjoyable, and I continue to look forward to working together because I think I’ll always have coaching or mentoring in some sort of way, and I’ve been excited about the coaching I’ve had, but not quite like this. Ashley hit the nail on the head, she sees me, she has this space, and it’s not that others weren’t trying to, but there was something significant about this. She celebrates all the small things, so that starts cultivating in my mind – something that I wouldn’t normally pay attention to. Witnessing Ashley supporting me in all of that introduced me to how I can treat myself as well.

I’ve been in therapy (coaching) with Ashley for some months now. When I started, I was a pretty grumpy dude, and I wasn’t the type of person who would go to therapy, and although my life is not perfect now, I’m definitely more comfortable with what my life is. Ashley really helped me get to that place where I’m not feeling sorry for myself all the time and I’m also not seeing myself as the bad guy all the time, so I’m really thankful for both of those ways of looking at myself and ways of looking at life. Some of the ways she did that were Timeline Therapy, which is probably my favorite out of the different techniques, which is just finding a point in your own history where that emotion, that feeling, began, and addressing it there, so she’s definitely helped with that. 

She’s also helped with couples therapy. I think what was great about the couples therapy is that both my wife and I were able to enter this room together and really get to a place where we actually had at least some sort of understanding as to what the other one was going through. With couples therapy, we were able to really hear each other in a way where we weren’t attacking each other. We were listening to each other a lot more, and I think that was a direct result of having Ashley there, and having Ashley mediate in a manner where it was clear she wasn’t really taking either side, she was just there to help us get to where we needed to be, and I really really appreciate her for that.
